Stefan Scheiber-Loeis has been an Associate Principal at the firm since 2018. In his current acting role, he leads the design of a large on-going Master Plan in Italy for which there are several buildings underway. As a Project Architect he was instrumental in the design and construction of the Burda Collection Museum in Baden-Baden, Germany, the Arp Museum in Rolandseck, Germany, the Department Store for Peek & Cloppenburg in Mannheim, Germany and the Jesolo Lido Condominium in Jesolo, Italy.
Mr. Scheiber-Loeis has been involved in developing and managing a number of other projects, including the Siemens Corporate Headquarters in Munich, Germany; The ECM Radio Plaza Masterplan in Prague, Czech Republic; and addition of the Peek & Cloppenburg Department Store Düsseldorf, Germany; a proposal for Peek & Cloppenburg Department Store in Vienna, Austria, Stuttgart KAR Competition, Germany; Fire Island House, New York; Leblon Offices in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; a Condominium Tower in San Francisco, California, the Taichung Residential Tower, in Taichung, Taiwan and the Newark Workforce Housing in New Jersey.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Scheiber-Loeis has collaborated on numerous projects with Hans Hollein, Austria, including the Generali Media Tower, Vienna, Austria; Guggenheim Museum, Vienna, Austria; Residence and the office for the Chancellor of the Republic of Germany, Berlin and was responsible for the development of the Vulcania Museum in Saint-Ours-Les-Roches, Auvergne, France.
He received his education at the Technical College for Civil Engineering and Art, Innsbruck, Austria, the School of Architecture McGill University Department of Architecture, Montreal, Canada (with a Scholarship from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research) and the Technical University of Vienna, Austria where he received his Master of Architecture degree.
Mr. Scheiber-Loeis was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 1994 to pursue his studies at Columbia University, New York, Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation where he received his Masters of Science degree in Architecture and Urban Design in 1996 with highest honors for excellence in design. He has been a Guest Critic for design reviews at Columbia University, City College of New York, School of Visual Arts New York and the Architekturzentrum Vienna. Mr. Scheiber-Loeis is a registered architect in Germany and a member of the Bund Deutscher Architekten (BDA).
